Unexpected Angel

An unexpected angel
Shakes sunlight from her hair,
Golden glowing thrilling
Oooh beware –
I’m exploding!

You gotta be so patient,
Oooh so patient,
And then you’re gonna
Touch each other’s souls.

This angel shakes her hair,
Sunlight everywhere,
Things I can’t predict
Begin to happen;
Try to turn away,
Say call it a day,

But I –
I cannot get by
Fire –
Fireworks in the sky –
I’m exploding!

She’s the prettiest, most alluring
Woman I’ve ever met,
She’s got about a million kind of smiles,
From that all-embracing flower
Of universal love, to a cool sarcastic
Don’t-mess-with-me chuckle.

And she listens like a meadow
Drinking nourishment from rain –
But her talk cuts with
The diamond edge of truth.
And though you rarely see her cry,
You learn she sheds her tears,
You learn she’s been through hardship,
Wounded tender years; you learn she’s
Dearly loved and lost, let whole worlds
Slip away, you learn she walks out
Many doors she shuts behind her for always.

From such tangled twisted root,
Such mysteriously perfect fruit,
Somehow shines with love she rarely knew;
This golden orange peach
I am privileged to reach,
Like a butterfly I kiss
This spun-gold flower.

And I –
I cannot get by
Fire –
Fireworks in the sky –
I’m exploding!
I’m exploding!
